    Job Summary

    This position is responsible for maintaining financial procedures and confirming GAAP compliance through account analysis, reconciliation, supporting the month-end close, and preparation of reports and statements. Effective communication of this information among the Finance Team and respective operational groups is critical to the success of this position. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, able to process many simultaneous tasks with accuracy, with high attention to detail, strong collaboration and communication skills and willingness to take the initiative to drive process improvements.

    Key Tasks and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Assist in timely and accurate month-end close processes including account reconciliations
    • Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information
    • Update and maintain reconciliation detail for asset and liability general ledger balances on a monthly basis
    • Monitor GL activity for accuracy on an ongoing basis
    • Assist with data collection and analysis to support grant allocation entries
    • Maintain schedules and supporting data for annual audit by external auditors
    • Approach cross-department requests with a positive, service-oriented attitude
    • Complete ad hoc projects as assigned by the Controller/other management

    Job Skills & Qualifications

    • Strong working knowledge of GAAP, especially for nonprofit organizations
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline
    • 2 - 5 year's general ledger accounting experience, including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and complex account analysis highly preferred
    • Non-profit experience preferred, with exposure to grant allocations
    • Experience with QuickBooks (desktop or Enterprise), Sage Intacct, and
    • Advanced knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX) and the Microsoft 365 Platform
    • Solid written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong attention to detail and highly organized
    • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Grants management and/or public accounting experience highly desirable
    • Demonstrate a strong passion for Chrysalis' mission to creating a pathway to self-sufficiency for homeless and low-income individuals by providing the resources and support needed to find and retain employment.
