- Manages all day-to-day activities of the application development team. Provide effective team management, leadership and mentoring.
- Establishes training offerings, suited for individuals' needs, for them to progress
- Conducts People Operations responsibilities for all assigned team members, including goal setting & performance evaluations.
- Motivates and provides guidance to team members to accomplish team goals through counseling, performance reviews, mentoring, and team building activities
- Serves as the player-coach within the team, helping them develop into more seasoned professionals
- Champions agile development processes within the team, leads agile development rituals.
- Schedules projects and resources, and monitors project timelines; accountable for the success or failure of all team projects
- Effectively communicates team and project updates to internal and external stakeholders. Proactively identifies project risks and takes steps to mitigate risks.
- Works with Product management and other functional areas to identify priorities for Application Development and enhancements; acquires resources for projects to fit the current and future needs of the Business
- Helps other Technology Managers set and implement policies and procedures related to application quality, standards, and testing
- Architects and writes detailed requirements for engineering led initiatives.
- Documents current and future project workflows using tools such as wikis, flowcharts and matrices.
- Plays an integral part in establishing, driving, and enhancing processes and procedures within the team, and within the Technology department as a whole
- Additional duties as assigned
- 3+ years experience leading a software development team
- 5+ years programming experience (c#, java, c, go, javascript, python, php)
- Experience with Relational Databases (mysql, postgres, sql server)
- Experience with cloud technologies (aws, gcloud, azure)
- Experience with Version Control (git)
- Experience with Unit and Integration Testing Methodologies
- Experience building highly-scalable software solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment & welcome change
- Highly self-motivated
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience
- Experience with Java, JavaScript, PHP and Go
- Experience with flat file data processing (parsing, validation, normalization)
- Experience with cloud-based data tools (Airflow, Athena/S3, Glue, etc)
- Experience with data analytics tools (snowflake, PowerBI)
- Experience in Healthcare or Fintech industry
