THE POSITION:
DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
As a Corrections Employment Vocational Coordinator (CEVC), you will provide employment and skills development opportunities to inmates within the correctional institution.
You will be responsible for managing inmate jobs and assigning academic as well as vocational program tasks for which inmates are compensated.
You will determine job vacancies, interview and review all inmates before being assigned to work details; provide vocational counseling directed at employment and skill development opportunities; and coordinate the inmate payroll and compensation system.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Fulltime employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday
- Friday, with 30minute lunch.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY:
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Corrections Employment and Vocational Assistant;
or: - Two years of para-professional experience in obtaining and evaluating vocational or employment information;
or: - An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
