    Description
    Reliability Engineer
    KMS Solutions, LLC is a technical management/solutions company that specializes in engineering, analysis, and cyber security.

    Founded in 2005, KMS is a certified small business with over a decade and a half of experience supporting the Department of Defense as well as many other departments and programs critical to our Nations security and well-being.

    Essential FunctionsConduct an analysis of reliability problems and investigate to determine the required reliability approach.
    Determine cost advantages of alternatives.

    Develop action plans that comply with internal/external customer demands for reliability processes/equipment to avoid failure and maximize reliability and availability.

    Use DoD 5000, to develop analysis methods to determine reliability of components, equipment and processes for submarines and submarine systems.

    Perform detailed reliability studies and calculations of component/system reliabilities.

    Plan and perform engineering research, design development, or manufacturing/process engineering assignments, including responsibility for major subsections of complex projects using general engineering practices influenced by the general theme of reliability principles.


    Required Education and Experience:
    Secret DoD clearanceBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related fieldTen (10) years of engineering experienceFive (5) years of experience in reliability engineering

    Preferred Education and Experience:

    Master's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related fieldDoD 5000, Active-duty Navy, and / or Navy acquisition experience desired, not required.

    Engineering experience specifically with undersea warfare systems and/or Combat systems

    Competencies:

    Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, to all levels of the customer and company leadership.

    Capable of effectively working and problem solving in both independent and team environments.
    Strong analytical skillsThoroughness and attention to detail

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
    The typical workday is eight hours in length. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, with concurrence from the supervisor. The employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and must account for the hours in a pay period to maintain full-time status.


    Travel:
    Up to 10% travel may be required.
