Summary

This position is located in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR), Division of Reactor Oversight (DRO), Quality Assurance and Vendor Inspection Branch. The supervisor is Kerri Kavanagh.

This position is Bargaining Unit with the National Treasury Employees Union, Chapter 208.

This position is not subject to Confidential Financial Disclosure reporting requirements.

This position is not subject to security ownership restriction reporting requirements

Duties

Duties include but are not limited to:

Reviews and evaluates new reactor license applications in the areas of quality assurance and licensing activities that involve technical issues.

Performs technical, policy and program functions related to the implementation of the vendor inspection program for new and operating reactors, including participating in vendor and quality assurance (QA) inspections.

Prepares safety evaluation reports, audit and inspection reports, and other documentation related to a variety of licensing activities for commercial PWRs/BWRs, new light water and advanced reactor designs, and non-power reactors including license amendment requests, topical report submittals, design certification applications, and new license applications.

Identifies and participates in tasks required for development and implementation of policy.

Provides assistance in the resolution of issues raised because of review associated with the development of regulatory guidance in events reported by licensees or identified by inspectors.

Administers headquarters' generic aspects of reactor QA and vendor inspection activities.

Develops information to be used in training, briefings, presentations, and testimony, or for transmittal to other offices and agencies.
