    Summary

    This detail opportunity is the temporary assignment of an employee to a different position or set of duties for a specified period when the employee is expected to return to his/her regular duties at the end of the assignment.

    Duties

    As a Program Specialist, you will:

    • Provide personnel management administrative support to division (preparing HR packages and entering various HR systems).
    • Act as a liaison between the division office of director and branch.
    • Conduct the purchase of a wide variety of supplies, equipment, and services needed to support the operations of the division using the Integrated Contracts Expert (ICE).
    • Conduct the purchase of a wide variety of supplies, equipment, and services needed to support the operations of the division using the government purchase card in CCPS.
    • Provide the full range of administrative services in response to the specific needs of the branch/division.
    • Provide assistance to managers and employees in registering for training courses (entering into VSTS and conference memo).
    • Provide administrative support to branch (division office of director) on matters related to staffing, contracts, budget, etc. (keeping spreadsheets).
    • Extract and assemble information, conducts analysis, and develop reports for division leadership.

    • In accordance with Executive Order 12564 of September 15, 1986, The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is A Drug-Free Federal Workplace. The position may require the submission of a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment and be subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing upon hiring.     Applicants must currently occupy a full-time Career or Career Conditional competitive service position within CDC/ATSDR or an Excepted Service position under the Schedule A, Schedule B, or Veterans Recruitment Appointment Authority within the CDC/ATSDR or Commissioned Corps equivalent, unless otherwise specified in the Announcement.
