- ODM Partnership Management: Forge and maintain strong relationships with ODM partners. Collaborate closely with them to translate product concepts into feasible designs, ensuring alignment with quality standards, cost targets, and delivery timelines.
- Remote Team Leadership: Lead and inspire remote cross-functional teams located in USA & Asia, including design, engineering, and manufacturing teams. Provide clear direction, support, and mentorship to ensure project milestones are met effectively and efficiently.
- Product Development Strategy: Develop and execute a robust product development strategy tailored to leverage the strengths of overseas partners and remote teams. Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product offerings and competitiveness in the market.
- Hands-on Approach: Take a hands-on approach to product development, actively engaging in design reviews, prototype testing, and manufacturing process optimization. Roll up your sleeves and work alongside team members to overcome challenges and achieve project goals.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align product development efforts with business objectives and market demands. Identify opportunities for product differentiation and market expansion through proactive market research and competitor analysis.
- Risk Mitigation: Anticipate and mitigate potential risks and challenges associated with overseas product development, such as cultural differences, language barriers, and logistical complexities. Implement robust risk management strategies to ensure project success.
- Performance Tracking: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the progress and success of product development initiatives. Regularly monitor project performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in product development
- Proven track record of successfully managing product development projects with overseas partners and remote teams, preferably in the technology or consumer electronics industry.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-cultural teams to achieve ambitious goals.
- Hands-on experience with product design, prototyping, and manufacturing processes. Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles is a plus.
- Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a passion for driving continuous improvement.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and requirements.
- Proficiency in English is required; proficiency in other languages, especially Mandarin or other Asian languages, is a plus.
