Teaching chemistry to high school and college students is my passion.

Joseph G Baxter joined the Red Herring in 2008 to spearhead the development of technology through the globe by awarding brilliant leaders. Joseph also served as a Co-Founder and CEO of the Startups Grove, a fun startups networking event, and as a serial entrepreneur of several online companies.

Joe began his career with BioZak Japan in 1999 where he was one of the early pioneers in Japan’s biotech startup environment. Joe later worked for the Japanese venture capital firm ITX International Holdings as a business development manager and chief scientific analyst in the Mountain View office. He took part in over 5 investments, ranging from $750,000 to $5 million per company, primarily in biotechnology and medical devices.

Joe’s investments in industry leading NASDAQ companies include: Omeros (OMER), Fibrogen (FGEN), and Nimblegen’s $272M acquisition by Roche (HHBY).

After experiencing venture capital work for 4 years, Joe transitioned back into starting up and working with numerous biotech companies and then came across many innovative tech companies while at the Red Herring. Since 2002 as a serial entrepreneur, Joe has worked as a Founder, Co-Founder, CEO, board member, advisor and business development manager at the following biotech/health/hydrogen water/pharmaceutical/CBD water/online social media and innovative startups: Startups Grove, Vitality,Inc., Invisocial.com, YantraWear, Red Sharks, H4O Holdings, H4O, Inc., PolarisRx, GeneExcel (Baylor College of Medicine), Rodeo Dr., Orasi Medical, DigitalZinn, and VM Discovery. Of note, Joe was the pioneer 10 years ago for the current hydrogen water movement in the USA.
