- Serve as the lead author on FERC resource reports.
- Research, analyze, and compile data for permit applications and reports submitted to various regulatory bodies.
- Act as a subject matter expert on large and complex projects, coordinating fieldwork, managing health and safety aspects, and ensuring project delivery requirements are met.
- Participate as a team member on multiple projects simultaneously, focusing on major natural gas and LNG capital development projects across the U.S.
- Support technical proposals and engage in business development activities with current clients.
- Collaborate with key regulatory agencies, including FERC, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and other relevant bodies.
- Provide technical expertise on FERC applications, impact assessment materials, and maintain overall quality control.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental studies, environmental management, wetland science, planning, geography, or related fields.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in permitting FERC-regulated capital development projects.
- Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, and present technical data effectively to clients and regulatory agencies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational abilities, and experience in preparing detailed technical reports.
- Capability to multitask, travel, work independently, and adapt to fast-paced environments with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local permitting processes for development projects.
- Experience overseeing and coordinating studies on natural resources, Geographic Information System, and map interpretation.
- Ability to build rapport with team members, excellent interpersonal skills, and a customer-oriented mindset.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Environmental Regulatory Specialist at ERM
ERM is currently seeking an Environmental Regulatory Specialist to join their team. This position allows for remote work from anywhere in the United States.
The ideal candidate for this role should have a background in one of the natural sciences and hands-on experience in planning and coordinating Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) application filings for natural gas projects.
Moreover, the preferred candidate should also possess expertise in developing documents and permitting strategies for FERC.
The successful candidate must bring at least 8 years of relevant experience to the table, with a focus on managing complex capital development projects, including natural gas pipeline systems and liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities.
The chosen individual will showcase proficiency in environmental siting and impact assessments under NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) for energy infrastructure projects, securing federal and state permits, as well as strong technical writing and communication skills.
