    The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing key payroll tasks on a bi-weekly basis, and for proper maintenance and upkeep of payroll systems to ensure data integrity. The Payroll Specialist's role is to directly assist, support, and communicate with the Payroll / Benefits and Human Resources department management teams to ensure that day-to-day business runs smoothly, accurately and efficiently.

    The Payroll Specialist reports directly to the HR Systems and Operations Manager.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Be a brand ambassador for The Paper Store
    • Process multi-state payroll in accordance with state law in ADP Workforce Now
    • Manage Outlook inbox and respond with appropriate urgency
    • Analyze payroll data and conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy
    • Reconciliation of payroll and billing discrepancies
    • Process updates/changes to employee's employment and personal information in ADP Workforce Now and Enhanced Time
    • Process garnishments, wage audits, and verifications
    • Approve and sign off on employee timecards in ADP Enhanced Time
    • File and organize Payroll and Employee Personnel documentation
    • Manage all Payroll Year End processes in ADP Workforce Now
    • Manage applicable required government reporting
    • Initiate, develop, and implement process improvements

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Experienced and proficient in the use of ADP Enhanced Time and Workforce Now
    • Proficient in processing multi-state payroll in accordance with state law
    • Working knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations as applicable to payroll
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
    • Experience analyzing, researching, and resolving discrepancies
    • Strong organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines
    • Maintains a high level of discretion and adheres to The Paper Store confidentiality standards
    • Ability to work autonomously while paying strong attention to detail
    • Possess the resourcefulness and initiative to problem solve and operate strategically
    • Ability to work 3+ days/week at the Corporate Office in Acton, MA
    • Professional presentation in attire, demeanor, and appearance
