    Job Description

    Three Rivers Marine & Rail Terminals is seeking an Accounting & Payroll Specialists to join our corporate finance team. The Accounting & Payroll Specialist will assist with month-end close and will be responsible for processing payroll on a weekly basis. The Accounting & Payroll Specialist should be proactive, reliable, and excel at balancing details.

    General Responsibilities:

    • Assist with month-end closing and general ledger account reconciliations
    • Process state sales & use tax monthly returns.
    • Compile employee time, production, and payroll data from timesheets and other records (regular hours & overtime, days off & vacation tracking).
    • Perform duties associated with payroll processing on a weekly basis.
    • Responsible for maintaining payroll time keeping system.
    • Prepares all monthly payroll journal entries for general ledger.
    • Responsible for all payroll related regulatory reporting.
    • Address employee's pay-related concerns timely and provide accurate payroll information.
    • Process all wage garnishments and attachments.
    • Ensure employee and payroll information is secured and kept confidential.

    Required Experience:

    • Associates Degree in business preferred.
    • At least 2 years of accounting experience required
    • At least 2 years of payroll processing using payroll service companies' software required.
    • Experience with multi-company payroll processing.
    • Knowledge of benefits and Human Resources policies.
    • Solid knowledge of accounting and month/year end process.
    • Proficient in Excel.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to accurately work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment to meet deadlines.
    • Must be detailed oriented, organized and handle various assignments.
    • Overtime as required.
