    Location: Bronx Public School - Elementary

    The Site Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of an elementary school-based after-school program. The Site Supervisor provides leadership, direction, supervision, and support to program staff to ensure desired program goals and outcomes are met. The Site Supervisor serves as the primary contact between Neighborhood Initiatives Development Corp. (NIDC) and the school Principal and represents NIDC to the whole school community. The Site Supervisor reports to and will work with the assigned Program Supervisor and other team members to create a dynamic after-school program that includes academic enrichment, social/emotional activities, project-based learning, arts, sports, and leadership activities.

    Duties and Responsibilities, in concert with NIDC Youth Department Staff

    • Supervise all aspects of a school-based after-school program
    • Ensure that the program operates in compliance with all DOH safety and funder regulations if any
    • ensure it meets all obligations, specifically in the area of enrollment and rate of participation
    • Report all incident and accident reports to all relevant parties promptly and submit all documentation in a timely fashion.
    • Participate in incident review processes
    • Plan program activities and schedules for after-school program and holiday camp
    • Manage daily operations and coordinate with the school's administration, teachers, secretaries, and custodial staff
    • Organize program logistics, such as schedules, lesson plan collection, snack and space reservations, trips, supply requests, and programmatic needs
    • Build relationships with the school principal and administrative team to facilitate seamless integration of the afterschool program into the overall school culture
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders (participants, parents, school staff and administration and the community working collaboratively with other NIDC departments)
    • Learn and maintain all databases and other systems required by NIDC (and funders)
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date attendance data and meet deadlines for data entry into databases
    • Interviewing, managing, training, and coaching of program staff and volunteers and documenting these efforts
    • Conduct classroom observations; assess and evaluate staff on a consistent basis and address concerns as they arise
    • Maintain accurate time and attendance records for all staff, current staff and student files, incident and accident reports, and other required documentation and student data
    • Review lesson plans weekly; support the development of curriculum maps and activity plans
    • Ensure program content supports initiative goals and outcomes
    • Participate in school leadership committees and PTA meetings
    • Participate in other organizational development processes, workshops, and trainings including developing new programmatic initiatives
    • Work closely with families, parents, and guardians to ensure the needs of students are met
    • Create a strong sense of community that values respect, acceptance, and high expectations
    • Perform other duties and tasks as deemed necessary by the NIDC

    Qualifications and Requirements

    • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree related to elementary education or youth development or working towards with graduation in near future and/or SACC credential course certification
    • A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience working with children in an educational, or SACC-licensed setting is preferred
    • At least three (3) years experience supervising staff and managing programs is preferred
    • Strong leadership, conflict-resolution, and diplomacy skills
    • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and multitask in a fast-paced environment
    • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite, email correspondence, and database management is required
    • Familiarity with NY State Standards, including OCFS and DOH regulations
    • Must be available to work Monday through Friday, between the hours of 12pm and 6pm
    • Must take part in 30 hours of professional development opportunities per year and be available for some program or organization events outside of regular business hours

    This is a part-time position with hours ranging between 25 to 30 weekly.

    A current physical exam and TB test are required for all Program Directors. All site-based staff must be fingerprinted before being hired.
