Monitor the planning of RESS testing, data acquisition, and database organization to ensure that the RESS validations are delivered in a timely manner with respect to project milestones.

Analyze the abuse test data and effectively communicate the key RESS performance parameters (hazard level, propagation rate, short circuit currents, heat release rate, etc.).

Work closely with the multiple cross-functional teams.
Support the battery test team with locating new test equipment and planning future expansion of Lucid battery testing capabilities.
Contribute to creating a documentation system for specifications and project test results.
Capable of performing domestic and international travel to supervise or contribute to abuse testing, expert committee, and/or field investigations.
    Qualifications
3+ years of experience in RESS safety and/or automotive industry.
Solid understanding of basics and fundamentals of mechanical, electrical and systems engineering.
Solid understanding of RESS technology (from battery cell level to system level) and high voltage safety.
Strong understanding of thermal runaway phenomenon, failure propagation/cascading failure and prevention, and thermal runaway detection methods/strategies.
Experience in designing state of the art experiments (beyond regulatory and standard battery tests).
Experience in reviewing and analysis of large test data sets.
Excellent in using analytical and numerical tools to analyze the data (mathematical methods, MATLAB, Python, etc.).
Experience performing or participating in DFMEA and PFMEA.
Excellent soft skills (communication, presentation, team-oriented attitude, etc.).
Ability to quickly comprehend complex systems, identify problems and effectively coordinate an action plan to drive decisions.
Ability to solve open-ended engineering problems using systems level thinking.
A detail-oriented personality with solid documentation and reporting skills.
Ownership mindset, enthusiasm, and a collaborative spirit.
Flexibility to work in a fast-paced startup environment with frequent prioritization adjustments.
    Preferred
Knowledge of abuse test standards and regulations:

Experience working with high-voltage, high current systems (power supplies, batteries, etc.).
Experience with CAD in at least one professional 3D CAD package, preferably Catia with the ability to generate drawings.
A history of working independently with limited oversight or input once a base understanding has been established.
Experience of basic fabrication and ability to communicate effectively with machine shop staff.
An ability to mitigate unforeseen problems creatively and effectively.
Experience with automated requirements management tools (e.g., JAMA, Cameo, Polarion, etc.).

We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.
Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at .
