    Ford Model E is responsible for developing the key technologies and capabilities – such as EV platforms, batteries, e-motors, inverters, charging and recycling – to create ground-up, breakthrough electric vehicles.

    The Staff System Safety Engineer will be responsible for safety development and system level design of the Vehicle Electrical System Architecture through multiple stages of development starting from the block diagram architecture phase.

    You will Conceptualize, Design, Engineer, Develop and support the launch of next generation Vehicle Platform Architectures for electric vehicles.

    What you'll be able to do:
    Lead the Safety analysis of next generation Model e products, in one or more areas: Functional Safety, Electrical Safety, Passive Safety, Fault Management, Safety of Intended Functionality
    Perform HARA, FTA, FMEA analysis
    Define safety concepts and influence architecture of the automotive electrical systems
    Invent, detail and execute system analysis in a variety of complex safety-related domains, utilizing first principles and systems approach
    Perform system safety timing analysis that would lead to data-driven FTTI and architectural requirements
    Design safety test requirements at every level, from vehicle validation to HW/SW fault injection and reaction analysis
    Perform fault propagation and reaction analysis at the vehicle level, derive requirements while resolving design tradeoffs
    Drive implementation of functional safety by design and assist in generating all appropriate functional safety artifacts per ISO 26262
