    Description

    Job Summary:


    Collects, reviews and analyzes data to evaluate operational opportunities, provides finance and business-related reports and makes recommendations to senior leaders in the company.

    Liaise between plants, operations and financial teams. Serves as lead finance partner with the Regional Operations VP's / Directors.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    Simplifies complex financial and business issues into easy to understand language for the business leaders
    Prepares business related reports and analyzes trends in finance and general business conditions for the executive teams.
    Compiles and prepares reports, graphs and charts of data developed to explain the information to the user.
    Prepares monthly and periodic management presentations for Monthly Operating Reviews, Owner Presentations, Board Meetings, and others. Analyzes and prepares Q&A type information for senior management.
    Reviews and analyzes Income Statements and key metrics daily, weekly, monthly
    Leads cross-functional interaction to prepare financial analysis.
    Delivers and communicates the work products to all levels of management.
    Responsible for forecasting each department and ensures the accuracy and timeliness of forecast submissions
    Analyzes and explains monthly variances to budget, forecast, and prior periods
    Capex/maintenance planning and tracking; including modeling returns on capital deployed
    Helps to drive crucial projects forward
    Works with executive team on operational cost management and standardization initiatives

    Problem solver on operational and business issues; helping managers identify shortfalls to budget / forecast, as well as improve their performance.

    Develops tools to help analyze operations
    Performs cost accounting as needed
    Develops annual budgets and strategic plan targets

    Communicates with accounting and finance departments to facilitate the flow of information required for completion of tasks and closing of the books.

    Support closing activities, analysis, and entries as needed.
    Special projects as required.
    Conducts special financial and business-related studies.

    Qualifications and Requirements:
    Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business, or equivalent work experience
    Team player, interacts well with executives, supervisors and peers
    Glass processing, aggerates or manufacturing experience, a plus
    Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required.
    Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
    Familiar with a variety of the concepts, practices and procedures of accounting and operations
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    Self starter - motivated to initiate tasks and work without supervision
    5-7 years professional experience in an accounting, financial analyst, senior financial analyst, cost accounting, or similar position
    Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, with proficiency in various other office and software programs
    Excellent analytical skills
    Strong, effective problem-solving skills
    Excellent leadership and process/systems skills required
    Excellent time management and organizational skills.
    Able to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
