    Hi there

    We are actively looking to add a great Staff Accountant to our established team here in our Sacramento, CA office

    We're a statewide Sacramento-based organization dedicated to serving the needs of career firefighters While we are looking for someone who is qualified on paper, someone who cares about our mission of improving the personal and professional lives of our first responders is a must

    • This position is direct hire (no contract period)
    • We are currently working a hybrid schedule with two days available as work from home (after onsite training is complete)
    • The compensation for the role is 65, per year DOE

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Prepare weekly and monthly bank reconciliation reports.
    • Prepare weekly and month end cash report.
    • Maintain financial records and general ledger accounts.
    • Prepare journal entries and monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements.
    • Prepare balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations.
    • Perform general ledger account analyses.
    • Review cash receipts, A/R billing (invoicing), A/P trial balance and reports prepared by the Accounting Specialists.
    • Prepare and review statutory and compliance reports.
    • Assist in annual audit preparation.
    • Prepare financial and ad hoc analyses.
    • Complete special projects as necessary.
    • Assist the Senior Accountant and Lead Accountant as needed.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (accounting, finance, business) is required.
    • 3+ years of general accounting with preparing financial statements experience and working knowledge of GAAP.
    • Strong PC skills; excellent knowledge/skills of Excel.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
    • Good problem-solving and time management skills.
    • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and achieve timely and accurate results.
    • Self-driven, highly organized and detail oriented.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial data.
