- Must be able to conduct due diligence reviews, title searches and survey reviews.
- Prepare UCC financing statements, closing instruction letters, closing documents and binders.
- Review title policies and work with title companies resolving any issues.
- Perform legal research including statutory and case law and drafts forms.
- Experience filing appropriate documents with the Secretary of State and Department of Corporations, Internal Revenue Service and/or the Franchise Tax Board.
- Manage large, complex transactions; attend closings and manage closing room; controls execution of closing documents; including tracking and organizing closing documents.
- Provides general assistance in real estate, lending, construction and leasing transactions.
- Proofreading legal documents to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Strong knowledge of Westlaw/Lexis or other computerized legal research system(s).
- Bachelor's Degree and paralegal certification preferred.
- 2+ years of Real Estate title/survey experience preferably within a mid/large size law firm.
