Issues may arise from both internal and external customers, including, but not limited to, Product Lifecycle Management, Supply Continuity, and Design for Manufacturability.
The role focuses on medium and high-complexity issues requiring a quick turnaround time and providing key feedback to stakeholders.This position is part of Supplier Engineering and will be located in Sunnyvale, CA, and will be Hybrid. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Drive engineering initiatives to improve product reliability and cost structure.
Use analytical/experimental problem-solving skills to understand hardware, software, reagents, and consumables issues and to be able to quickly analyze and resolve system inter-operability problems.
Participate in cross-functional project teams with scientists, technical support, and other engineers to create new and resolve determined root-cause issues and collaborate/perform/lead with other team members in the verification, validation, and Change Order submission and implementation of the redesigns.
Perform and supervise the testing of components and products to ensure compliance with agency standards. Manage 3rd party testing teams to timely project completion and resolution of testing issues.Increase global access to PCR testing by ensuring supply chain continuity through Sustaining Engineering.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related fieldAt least 7 years of relevant work including hands-on experience in designing, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systemsAbility to create and execute test protocols and conduct data analysis to gain insight into the quality and reliability of proposed changesConduct board schematics/layout designs (both analog and digital), troubleshooting, and verification of electronics packaged within tight physical constraintsConduct failure investigations related to electrical systems and components with a proven track record in troubleshooting complex electrical issues, driving to root cause, and implementing effective corrective actionsIt would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: Competent with the implementation of ISO 9001, with ISO 13485 preferredPrevious work experience in an FDA-regulated environmentProduct transfer to a Contract Manufacturer (CM)Cepheid, a Danaher operating company, offers a broad array of comprehensive, competitive benefit programs that add value to our lives.
