Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Principal Power Electronic Electrical Engineer for the development and ongoing support of new and existing electrical designs used in surface ship and submarine propulsion and power generation systems for the US Navy based out of Sunnyvale, CA.
The prospective candidate will work with a group of incredible people with backgrounds in Mechanical, Electrical, and Systems Engineers with focus on Control Systems and Electromagnetic Design.
The prospective candidate researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, and systems.

The Power Electronics group is seeking a Principal Power Electronic Electrical Engineer with knowledge of and experience with applications, modeling, and analysis of control systems.
The candidate should also be familiar with hardware and software implementations of control systems and their associated challenges in relation to large rotating electrical machines.
In that vein experience in facets of rotor/structural dynamics, analysis thereof, and correlation to control theory is highly desired.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 5 years related experience; or Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) discipline 3 years related experience.
Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a DOD secret security clearance.
Preferred Degree in Electrical Engineering
Structural and Rotating element analysis ability and experience
2+ years of work experiences with DOD related products
Experience with Electromagnetic Interference testing and design for mitigation
MATLAB/Simulink proficiency
C/C++/C# proficiency
Understanding of FPGA concepts and programming
Current DOD secret security clearance
