- Assisting the Assistant Program Manager for Systems Engineering (APMSE) with program-level / cross-project technical guidance.
- Interaction and program representation with numerous stakeholders and technical exchange forums.
- Assessment of technical risk and mitigation alternatives.
- Tailoring of engineering standards and controls for appropriate technical oversight of technology efforts.
- Projecting and defining specific tasking for the Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) and University Affiliated Research Center (UARC) efforts.
- Projecting long-range (15+ year) capability gaps and technical road maps.
- Interaction with various Department of Defense (DoD) Science and Technology (S&T) organizations, and identification of S&T initiatives which are candidates to address capability gaps.
- Creation and tracking of project technical transition criteria.
- Modeling, simulation and analysis support.
- Other technical support duties as may arise from either the Program Lead or APMSE.
- Minor (10-20%) travel is required for this position.
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Active U.S. DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
- At least seven (7) years of experience with DoD research and development (R&D) procurement.
- Must have experience and working knowledge of System of Systems Engineering, modeling, simulation, analysis, demonstration and test, Joint Service interaction / leveraging of Joint Service efforts, and S&T insertion processes.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point).
- Demonstrated good oral and written communication skills.
- Experience coordinating operations across multiple organizational boundaries.
- Experience working in a dynamic, schedule constrained, and complex security environment.
