Our client is a leading manufacturing company headquartered in Indianapolis, IN. Position Overview: They are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting, strong leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accounting Manager will oversee all aspects of the accounting department, including financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and cost accounting.
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for senior management and external stakeholders.
Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to develop accurate and achievable financial plans.
Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and profitability.
Coordinate and oversee the annual external audit process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and timely completion of audit deliverables.
Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Manage and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to foster professional growth and development.
Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments, providing financial expertise and support for strategic decision-making initiatives.
Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and industry trends, proactively assessing the impact on the company and recommending appropriate actions.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Solid understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements.
Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with SAP or Oracle is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
Proven leadership ability, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.
Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
