- Process accounts payable invoices to ensure the accuracy of vendor payments.
- Check AP information for accuracy and approvals, and verify all relevant paperwork is in order.
- Answer inquiries from vendors in a professional and timely manner.
- Sort, prioritize, review for accuracy, and process incoming AP invoices.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide AP-related records as required.
- Examine vendors for compliance with federal regulations regarding 1099s and ensure proper tax identification numbers are obtained.
- Handle payments in an organized and timely manner, following company procedures and policies.
- Maintain accurate accounting and payables records to support smooth financial operations.
- Ensure imaging of invoice-supporting documents is performed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist with audit support as necessary, providing documentation and information as needed.
- Onboard new vendors, ensuring all required documentation and information is collected and verified.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Familiarity with tax regulations and 1099s preferred.
