    Description
    The Senior Development Manager shall be responsible for developing theexecution of a portfolio of projects under their assignment.

    Responsibilitiesconsist of directing or executing work to complete all activities associatedwith project development as well as providing oversight to the BusinessDevelopment and Finance team with prospect review and due diligence for newopportunities in the North American market.


    Location:
    Remote within the US and travel 30-45%

    Responsibilities:

    Management, Communication and Reporting:


    Guide a team of developers on delivering necessary tasks to keep a portfolioof projects maturing through the pipelineMonitor and submit / present status report(s) to maintain up-to-datesummary of project activities including preparation of co-developmentleadership for upcoming major decisions and mitigations.

    Articulate risks associated with projects while maintaining development budgetand schedule and anticipating upcoming major decisions.

    Facilitate internal approval process, including providing subject matterexpertise and major decision recommendationsParticipate in regular development partnership meetingsInform and collaborate with co-development steering committee on a regularbasisLiaise with all internal stakeholders as required to gain sign off andapproval at appropriate milestonesMaintain solid working relationships and communication with in-house businessdevelopment, engineering, wind resource, construction, sales,service, legal and finance.

    Collaborate with engineering team and external consultants to evaluate sitelayouts and constraints, technology options, schedule implications,interconnection applications and studies

    Development and Project Management:


    Execute, support or supervise land acquisition campaigns, includingidentification of landowners, initiating contact, and negotiating landcontracts, including but not limited to, energy leases, purchase andsale contracts, collection and transmission lines easement, access roadsand right of way easements.

    Maintain existing landowner communications with project update phone calls andletters, newsletters, project update meetings, and presentations.
    Monitor the progress and metrics for Land Agent status. Liaise between LandAgent and internal or external counsel on contract requests while maintainingmarketable terms.

    Lead and facilitate communications and negotiations with externalstakeholders, including but not limited to contractors, communitymembers, permit agencies, utilities and other stakeholders includingoversight of local, state and federal permitting processes.

    Supervise (contract, engage, and discontinue, as necessary)consultants - including but not limited to environmental, engineering,aviation, biological consultants on the projects.

    Negotiate key project agreements such as Road Use Agreements, ConditionalUse Permits and Tax AbatementsFacilitate contracting for pre-construction activities such as preliminarygeotechnical engineering, preliminary engineering.

    Business Development
    Coordinate real estate due diligence, review materials and provide riskassessment for acquisition opportunities.

    Provide perspective on market trends and policy research and analysis ofenergy technologies and markets to quantify market potential and cultivate newdevelopment opportunities.

    Support Business Development in delivering attractive growth opportunities,including develop investments, acquisition and joint ventures and eventualproject salesSupport growth acquisition opportunities with (i) buy-side prospecting anddue diligence of developer and project and (ii) sell-sidedevelopment/sales support.

    Prospect of investment opportunities and provide valuable support to thediligence process for acquisition opportunities, including evaluatingdeveloper capabilities and project level risksSupport the Finance and Legal departments during interaction w th thirdparties (tax equity, construction financing, etc.) in order to ensuretransaction terms are favorable

    Qualifications:


    A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline with aminimum of 9 years of directly related experience; MBA or related Masters'degree preferred.

    A minimum of 5 years' experience handling project management energy relatedprojects and supervisory experience preferred.

    Has significant knowledge and capabilities in all the aspects of projectdevelopment, including key project agreements/contracts, power sales,commercial markets, Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC),permitting, transmission, fuel supply, project financing, contracts,land acquisition, and financial analysisHas significant experience in and understanding of the North American powersector, including legal/regulatory aspects, market environment,competition, stakeholders, counterparties, and other areas that impactgrowth initiatives.

    Has a background in leading projects through financial close at Notice toProceed (NTP) and Commercial Operation Date (COD).Senior level working knowledge of environmental sensitivities, developmentopportunities, permitting and interconnection processes.
