Accentuate Staffing is seeking a Bookkeeper/Accountant for a small Accounting Firm in Durham, NC. This position offers a flexible schedule (REMOTE or HYBRID) but ONLY open to LOCAL candidates. The firm specializes in providing financial services to a diverse range of small businesses, primarily franchises.

Responsibilities:

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries for multiple clients, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Recording debit and credit transactions accurately to reflect the financial activities of each client.

Handling sales tax entries and ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

Managing payroll entries, including processing employee payments and deductions.

Handling payables for clients, processing invoices, and ensuring timely payments to vendors.

Generating and analyzing Profit and Loss (P&L) statements to provide insights into the financial performance of clients.

Requirements:

Strong Excel skills are essential for this role. While pivot tables and formulas are not required, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in navigating Excel efficiently.

Previous experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles is preferred, especially in a client-facing or service-oriented environment.

Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy are critical for success in this role.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.

Experience working with franchises or multiple locations is a plus.

SAGE Accounting software experience is a plus
