- Process weekly hourly payroll for union and non-union employees and bi-weekly Corporate payrolls.
- Maintain payroll systems and all related payroll records ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Drive payroll best practices companywide and implement a consistent system and processes across all locations.
- Works collaboratively with cross-functional departments and supports other departments needs as necessary.
- Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions, including working directly with payroll service provider.
- Generate payroll reporting and analysis of payroll data.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and payroll tax obligations including state and local taxes.
- Oversee processing of payroll changes (i.e. new hires, terminations, raises) and system upgrades.
- Work with auditors as necessary.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding employee information.
- Associates degree or higher in accounting, human resources, administration or a similar field
- At least five years' experience working in Payroll.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with unions and ability to apply knowledge of union contracts to ensure payroll accuracy is preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of payroll process, laws and procedures under a multi-location setting.
- Familiarity with payroll software/ HRIS (Paycom experience preferred) and Microsoft Excel proficiency.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong planning and problem-solving skills including ability to perform analysis and improve processes.
- Superb organizational and time management skills.
