Job SummaryThe power system relay settings engineer is responsible for protective relay design (protective relay one-lines and schematics), protective relay setting coordination, development and calculations.

This candidate will be interfacing with clients, vendors, and contractors related with technical matters and project scopes.

In addition, this candidate will be working with other engineering and project management teams to coordinate overall project deliverables and maintain project budgets and schedules.

Knowledge and understanding of one or more of the following skillsets:
SCADA, automation, relay settings, RTU configuration, and Protection & Controls engineering terms and concepts are a plus.
Experience working with the electric utility industry or petro-chemical industry.

Skills with CAPE, ASPEN, ETAP, Relay vendors softwaresEssential Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsible for executing Protection and Control Engineering and Consulting services in Transmission and Distribution engineering in the electric grid.

Programming, testing, and commissioning protection and control related applications for power system design and substation automation projects.

Design and delivery of complex protection solutions for generation, transmission, distribution systems for electrical utilities and industrial customersPerform engineering studies and analyses such as:
short circuit, load flow, ground grid, arc-flash protective device coordination, etc.
Develop relay setting files to include programming of protection and control Logic and communications settings protective relays.
Perform configuration of RTU and other substation protection related devices as needed.
Participate in project meetings with project managers and customers on technical discussions.
