    We're committed to being your Company of ChoiceSCOPE OF DUTIESThe duties of the Marine Electrical Engineer shall include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:


    • Engineering and Design Work - Develop electrical design proposals and drawings which support calculations such as load analyses and short circuit studies. Implement electrical design standards and procedures while ensuring the flag state, and class societies regulations and procedures are adhered to; liaise with regulatory bodies as required. Write and review electrical specifications for ship new construction, modification, and/or repair. Perform systems/equipment and vendor evaluations. Provide electrical engineering project support as needed with clients, equipment vendors, and shipyards. Provide direction and support to team members and maintenance and repair crews at various locations including offshore and marine support facilities. Provide technical support for shipboard and land-based testing, investigations, diagnostics and repair of electrical systems, and electronic systems. Prepare, revise, and/or review technical manuals, engineering operating procedures, instructions, specifications, and standards documentation for cognizant equipment and systems. Ensure primary consideration is given to health, safety, and environmental issues in all activities undertaken within areas of responsibility. Provide technical support for company commercial activity.
    • Review Design Products - Review of electrical drawings, calculations and design products provided by shipyard, 3rd party or vendors to required electrical standards, flag state regulatory requirements, international treaties and class society rules as applicable. Validate calculations, perform study verification and verification of contracted design products to all applicable standards. Vendor / Consultant Review - Marine Electrical Engineer shall review equipment vendor and contract architect-engineer technical deliverables for compliance with specifications, regulatory bodies and required installed performance. Attendance of factory or shipyard tests shall be required.
    • Technical Writing and Project Reporting - Marine Electrical Engineer shall use computer office, technical and AutoCAD drafting tools for preparation of project technical presentations and project reports to middle and senior management.
    • Engineering Data Administration - Staff Engineer shall assist in maintaining filing system for all technical files and drawings related to new construction and existing vessel fleet. Work will entail filing electronic and paper media.
    • Job functions shall be as required to fulfill the responsibilities of the position and are not otherwise limited. The nature of the responsibilities of the incumbent shall be such that some overlap with fleet operational and maintenance responsibilities may occur. In such circumstances, incumbent shall perform job functions as advised and directed by supervisor.
    • All other duties as assigned by management

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEducation:
    Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline

    Experience:
    Five (5) years professional experience in the marine electrical engineering field.

    Experience with power distribution and subsystem design, integration, diesel electric and conventional vessel design, dynamic positioning, automation, control and monitoring systems, interior communication and navigation systems desired.


    Certifications:
    Must possess a valid US driver's license, passport and TWIC

    Skills:
    o Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

    o Functional capability in AutoCad 2015 and higher, industry standard eCAD tools and software for conducting electrical design and evaluation.

    o Functional capability in MS Windows and MS Office applications. o Ability to get along well with others.
    Must be willing to board and ride vessels to increase understanding of how this role supports our business.

    Some overtime, work related travel and weekend work may be required, subject to company operational requirements. Regular and reliable attendance is required.
