- Diagnose and repair heavy-duty trucks/equipment including but not limited to engine components, suspensions, A/C, transmissions, electrical, differentials, hydraulic pumps, and transfer cases.
- Installing new hardware and complex products while ensuring that they work correctly and safely.
- Repairing broken-down or damaged equipment either in the field or at a diagnostic and repair center.
- Explaining complex installation, diagnostic and repair issues in a way that's accessible to a nontechnical audience.
- Works closely with other mechanics and supervision to discuss and implement more cost effective options.
- The ability to work well as part of a team.
- Knowledge of how to maintain, repair, diagnose and correctly install or replace parts on equipment and machinery.
- Five (5) years of experience working on trucks, equipment, and trailers.
- Firm technical knowledge of blueprints, diagrams, mechanical engineering schematics and electrical diagrams.
- Strong knowledge about their industry and the general requirements of different equipment types
- Precise written communication abilities for filing repair, installation, and maintenance reports
- Physical stamina in the handling of complex tools and heavy equipment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while using their own technical judgment regarding complex tasks.
- Must be able to perform all work adhering to DOT, OSHA, ANSI and maintenance policies; including but not limited to the correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practice.
- Cummins, Allison, and/or Heavy-Duty certification strongly preferred.
- Aerial/hydraulic experience preferred.
- Welding/Fabrication experience preferred.
- CDL B or higher required.
- Own necessary basic tools.

These professionals may repair and service a wide range of assets depending on the technician's specific industry.
