Position Summary:


The Human Resources Manager will champion the daily functions of the HR department, playing a key role in shaping our workforce as you lead initiatives across staff recruitment, payroll, benefits, and compliance.

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Administration and Human Resources, you will be pivotal in fostering a supportive and dynamic workplace culture, ensuring all HR operations align with our strategic goals.

This is an opportunity to own significant HR processes, impacting our team's growth and satisfaction directly.


Supervisory Responsibility:

This position does not have any direct reports.


Essential Functions:


1. Recruitment and Hiring

  • Leads the recruitment and selection process, collaborating actively with department managers to secure talent matching the required skills and competencies.
  • Conducts background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Develops and implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.

2. Compliance and Documentation

  • Actively monitors, reviews, and documents compliance with training, assessments, and licensing requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, local employment laws, and regulations, and recommended best practices; continuously updates and reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance across multiple states.

3. Employee Relations and Support

  • Directly handles employmentrelated inquiries, escalating complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate senior HR staff.
  • Leads employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations, ensuring fairness and legal compliance.
  • Resolves conflicts and answers questions, grievances, and concerns regarding company policies, fostering a positive work environment.

4. Benefits and Leave Management

  • Manages all aspects of leave policies, including disability claims and FMLA, ensuring legal compliance and employee support.
  • Coordinates and leads all activities during Health Benefits Open Enrollment and manages monthly benefit enrollments for new hires and change requests.
  • Manages Worker's Compensation claims.

5. Policy Development and Implementation

  • Assists in the development and implementation of human resource policies.
  • Works closely with the HR team to innovate and improve processes, ensuring strategic alignment with organizational goals.

6. Record Keeping and Data Management

  • Secures and maintains precise employee records in both digital and paper formats, guaranteeing data integrity and accessibility.
  • Utilizes HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite to manage data effectively, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

7. Technology Proficiency and Strategic Initiatives

  • Excels in the use of advanced HR technologies, quickly integrating new systems to improve HR management.
  • Leads the integration and utilization of ATS and employee engagement tools, streamlining HR workflows and processes.

8. Payroll Management

  • Assumes full responsibility for the payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payment of all employee wages.
  • Implements, monitors and refines payroll systems and protocols, aiming for peak efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provides responsive support for payrollrelated questions and resolves discrepancies promptly, maintaining clear and effective communication with all employees.

Position Requirements:


Required Qualifications:


  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, related field or years of experience.
  • 24 years in a Human Resources position, with a substantial portion of it in a service operation.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM certification preferred but not required.
  • Strong knowledge and working experience with Human Resources Information Systems.
  • Prior experience with payroll administration.

Travel:

This position does not typically require overnight travel. However, opportunities for overnight travel may be available for meetings or professional development activities.
