    smartdept. inc. is searching for a Data Analyst

    for a Medical Appliance Development

    client in

    Sunnyvale, CA

    . The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in a Business/Data Analyst, Data Visualization, or Data Scientist role and excellent business and data analytical skills.

    This is a full-time, hybrid (1-2x/wk in office), 4

    -month contract

    opportunity that has the possibility of extension. The pay for this position is expected to be

    $78-$88/hour

    depending on experience level.


    We are looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst to join our client's growing global Enterprise Analytics team who will help drive analytics solutions throughout the business use case lifecycle.

    Derive insight and understanding from the wealth of data at our disposal through data visualization, building informative reports/dashboards, and deep investigations.

    This role presents the opportunity to work with business and information technology COEs, product owners, and data across a wide variety of functions, from manufacturing to customer insights.

    We are seeking an individual who has the vision and strategic thinking skills to help take analytics to the next level with our client.


    What You'll Do:
    Analytics Use Case Lifecycle - Blueprinting through Implementation.
    Partner with business teams to understand their data and reporting requirements
    Work closely with product managers, architects, and business units for knowledge-sharing, mentoring, and training
    Collaborate with key stakeholders on how to best leverage analytics to inform better business decisions and optimization operations
    Collaborate with internal and external customers to develop an analytics portfolio consistent with the vision and goals of our stakeholders
    Drive standardization of key metrics across various business stakeholders to improve data governance
    Identify data gaps from downstream and upstream source systems.
    Continual hypothesis testing through ad hoc analysis and model testing

    Storytelling with data:
    using data visualization effectively to tell a story and drive action by presenting information
    Defining and designing KPI-based dashboards/reports that summarize organizational health and highlight "hot spots" for executives to focus on
    Work with IT partners to improve data quality and governance with the goal of delivering value-added data for analytics
    Support analysts and UI engineers to enhance information visualization through the development of dashboards and user interfaces
    Work with Data Engineers and Architects to define back-end requirements for data products (aggregations, materialized views, tables – visualization)
    Investigate data to discover correlations/trends and the ability to explain them
    Continually recommend, develop, and implement improved processes to collect/analyze data, and visualize/present insights
    Identify opportunities to improve processes and strategies with technology solutions

    What You'll Need:

    3+ years of experience in a Business/Data Analyst, Data Visualization, or Data Scientist role
    Bachelor's or master's degree in Business, Economics, Business Analytics, or other quantitative field
    Expertise with

    Tableau

    and proven competency in dashboard design and information visualization techniques
    Experience with database technologies ( MS SQL, Snowflake )
    Expertise with

    MS SQL and Snowflake SQL

    with an understanding of database capabilities and experience integrating, structuring, and analyzing large amounts of data from diverse sources
    Expertise with

    SAP/Salesforce
    Proven ability with business analytics use case lifecycle
    Proven ability to effectively build and manage relationships, interact at multiple levels of the organization and across multiple functions
    Strong analytical skills – creative problem solver with the ability to aggregate and analyze a large amount of data from various sources

    An interest and desire to learn and fully immerse yourself in application and business processes, related workflows, business rules, data governance, etc.
