The University of Miami's Center for Southeastern Tropical Advanced Remote Sensing (CSTARS) is currently seeking a Software Developer to augment the ongoing development of satellite data exploitation algorithms and tools and the creation of new software programs and systems using research algorithms and image processing functions of the Center.
The Software Developer position involves a wide range of software and flowchart design and development activities within a highly dynamic environment supporting a variety of remote-sensing discovery and analysis programs.
Core Job Functions:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent knowledge of the software development life cycle.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Knowledge of Object-Relational Mapping frameworks.
Ability to learn quickly and work independently or as part of a team.
Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Possess strong interpersonal skills, and will have to interact with CSTARS staff as well as with other persons in the satellite operations community.
