    The Finance Manager holds primary responsibility for overseeing and managing various financial aspects of the firm, including accounting, client billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.

    Additionally, they serve as a trusted business partner to the firm's partners and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), offering strategic financial insights and guidance.


    Primary Responsibilities:

    Financial Reporting:
    Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports, highlighting significant variances in a timely manner.

    Data Analysis:
    Synthesize and interpret data, fostering insightful recommendations through rigorous analysis and challenging existing assumptions.

    Budgeting:
    Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with functional leaders, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

    Financial Closing:
    Manage monthly/quarterly closing processes to facilitate accurate financial reporting.

    Accounts Management:
    Oversee all accounts payable/receivable (AP/AR) transactions, ensuring adherence to controls and accounting procedures.

    Payroll Oversight:
    Review semi-monthly and monthly payroll files for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with regulations.

    Cash Flow Management:
    Monitor cash flow and coordinate bank transfers under COO oversight to meet operational needs.

    Document Management:
    Maintain organized and up-to-date financial files accessible to relevant stakeholders, including the COO, CFO, partners, and auditors.

    Platform Expertise:
    Develop expertise in financial platforms such as Power BI, ProLaw, and others to optimize financial processes.

    Special Projects and Analysis:
    Support ad-hoc financial analysis, modeling, and special projects as required by the organization.

    Cross-Training:
    Cross-train with the Chief Operating Officer on payroll duties and treasury management to ensure continuity

    Payment Processing and Data Management:
    Administer retainer, billing, vendor, and user data within billing, accounting, and expense systems. Input client payments accurately into cash receipt batches, ensuring proper allocation to outstanding client bills.

    MUST HAVE SKILLS
    B.A. or B.S. degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, MBA a plus
    5-7 years of accounting/finance experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    Prior management/supervisory experience, at least 1-2 years in AMLAW rated firm is required.
    ProLaw and Power BI is desired and a plus
    Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
    Self-driven with the ability to follow through with minimal direction.
    Able to communicate effectively and present information to partners, attorneys, professional staff, and external stakeholders.
    Advanced skill level in Excel with the ability to rapidly adopt new tools and systems.
    Track record of driving process improvement and driving efficiencies.
    Excellent time management and project management skills, combined with the ability to manage competing priorities
