    Job Description

    The Physical Therapist Assistant is an essential part of our team. The physical therapist assistant will be the treating professional and must be able to provide the highest quality of care and attention. They must follow all guidelines and treatment plans set forth by the Lead PT inclusive of progress or issues with the treatment program and assist in any changes of the program.

    Below is a complete job description and requirements:

    Job Description: Physical Therapy Assistant is expected to perform the following duties.

    • Preparing for each patient's therapy
    • Assisting in the transportation of patients when moving to or from a treatment area
    • Informing office manager/administrator of depleted supplies
    • Answering the phone
    • Filling out insurance forms and other paperwork
    • Reading patient evaluations
    • Being very familiar with the Plan of Care the physical therapist set in place for any given patient and, if need be, relaying any concerns about the Plan of Care
    • Administering balance and muscle strength tests
    • Administer manual exercises, massage or traction to help relieve pain, increase patient strength or decrease or prevent deformity.
    • Record prognosis, treatment, response and progress in patient's chart or computer database.
    • Stay up to date on continuing education and attend continuing education courses.

    Requirements:

    • Preferred SPORTS, ATC, or EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY, EXERCISE SCIENCE background.
    • Must have a valid Physical Therapy Assistant license/certificate in the state in which applying for work.
    • Must have graduated from an accredited physical therapy assistant program
    • Current CPR certification
    • Exceptional patient therapy skills and ability to demonstrate clinical excellence
    • Team oriented

    Additional Qualifications Needed: Experience or certified in: ART, Graston Technique, Kinesio Taping (RockTape Preferred)
