I am a Biology graduate seeking patient care experience in a clinical or hospital setting in order to continue my education towards becoming a Physician Assistant.  In my most recent position, I provided direct care as an Emergency Medical Technician at an elementary school. I am NREMT certified holding licensure in Florida.

• Provided direct and individualized nursing care to students and staff in an elementary school setting under the supervision of a RN.
• Collected student health assessment data and notified RN of actual or potential problems/needs on an ongoing basis.
• Communicated frequently with the RN regarding students’ physical and mental conditions.
• Rendered first aid care, as needed.
• Measured vital signs, including temperature, pulse rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
• Communicated with parents or guardians when students were ill or injured.

• Performed school health record review for all students to include immunization records, school health entry physical, cumulative health records and emergency contact information.
• Assisted school sites with minimizing the spread of communicable diseases through surveillance activities, investigation of cases, assist with contact tracing, data collection and preventing the spread of disease to new contacts.
• Worked closely with school site faculty and staff to maintain a healthy learning environment.
• Assisted in providing relevant health education for students and school staff as directed by the RN.
• Shared responsibility for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the student’s individualized health care plans and nursing care.
