Job Description

This role will act as the connection between Manufacturing Engineering and other departments including manufacturing, design engineering, quality, and customer service. Your main task will be to develop manufacturing operations for intricate parts and assemblies that meet design and quality standards. You will collaborate with cell management, tool design, and CNC programming. Additionally, you will provide input on manufacturability and create manufacturing plans for product design enhancements. You will also work on projects that aim to improve efficiency, such as set-up reduction and Kaizen events.
Key Responsibilities
- Transfer parts from old equipment to new ones to increase capacity.
- Establish processes and design fixtures to ensure consistent manufacturing of high-quality parts.
- Identify innovative equipment and processes to reduce costs in a facility with a high mix of low-volume products.
- Update MRP system with accurate lead times and manufacturing information.
- Develop Standard Work documentation for machine and assembly operations.
- Analyze workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow to optimize efficiency.
- Collaborate with planning and design teams to enhance product design and tooling for efficient production.
- Collaborate with vendors to define product specifications and acquire necessary materials.
- Estimate production times, staffing needs, and costs for management decisions.
- Apply statistical methods to forecast future manufacturing needs.

REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency in designing machine fixtures for manual and CNC equipment.
- Ability to ensure process repeatability for Machining and Assembly.
- Skill in defining and documenting standard work procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions and work with abstract variables.
- Advanced knowledge of continuous improvement principles with a proven implementation track record.
- Excellent report preparation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with employees at all levels and across functions.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, including GD&T.

Education & Experience
Typically requires a four-year college degree in a relevant field with no prior experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
