- Assign and direct the daily tasks of service technicians, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to schedules.
- Provide on-the-job training and coaching to technicians, enhancing their skills and knowledge.
- Coordinate with the parts department to ensure necessary parts are available for repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and failures, determining the best course of action for repairs.
- Oversee and participate in the repair, reconditioning, and maintenance of trailers and components.
- Prepare detailed service reports, documenting work performed and parts used.
- Plan and control the cost of repair jobs, ensuring budgetary alignment.
- Maintain company equipment, keeping it in good, clean, and orderly condition.
- Uphold all applicable safety policies and company standards, promoting a culture of safety first.
- Stay updated on company and product procedures and systems.
- 3+ years in semi-truck maintenance, with 1+ year in a leadership role. More extensive experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Heavy Duty Truck Technician certification. AAS degree and CDL Class A preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Advanced knowledge of diesel maintenance and diagnostics.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and navigate around equipment.
