    The Controller will oversee a range of financial activities and reporting. This role involves managing the accounting team to ensure tasks are accurately and promptly handled. Responsibilities include meeting tight deadlines and handling various accounting activities like payroll processing, general ledger preparation, financial reporting, and support for budget and forecast activities.

    Responsibilities

    • Review general ledger structure and entries for compliance with GAAP.
    • Conduct month-end closing activities for precise financial reporting.
    • Manage prepaid, accrual, and amortization schedules.
    • Perform bank and balance sheet account reconciliations.
    • Maintain Fixed Asset and Depreciation records and reports.
    • Ensure timely and accurate completion of Bank Compliance activities on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis.
    • Collaborate on annual budget and quarterly forecast preparation.
    • Analyze job cost variances and prepare reports.
    • Supervise accounts receivable, accounts payable, and the general accounting team.
    • Work with department managers to support overall department objectives.
    • Improve department procedures and resource efficiency while maintaining accuracy.
    • Guide the accounting team on non-routine reporting transactions.
    • Respond to Senior Staff and Company managers' financial inquiries and special reporting requests.
    • Support the Director of Finance and CFO on special projects and workflow enhancements.
    • Handle additional tasks as delegated by management.
    • Provide guidance to 2-3 associates and offer training to new and existing staff as required.
    • Address personnel matters like staff conflicts, absenteeism, and performance issues.
    • Set goals and monitor progress for each direct report to boost staff development.

    Requirements

    • Supervisory experience of several years.
    • Several years of accounting experience or training, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
    • Degree with a focus in Accounting or Finance preferred; significant relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
    • Strong communication, technology, and analytical skills.
    • Familiarity with ERP systems.
    • Knowledge of current accounting practices and procedures.
    • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and perform well under pressure and tight deadlines.
    • Prior Accounting experience is advantageous.

    Salary Range

    $110k-120k
