- Driving the right supplier cost and timing for new product development
- Managing cost efficiency, risk management and commodity strategies, etc.
- Managing supplier OTD and supply assurance
- Working closely across business functions to ensure robust and accurate PTP processes for all
- Working closely with global procurement, R&D, manufacturing, quality, compliance and other stakeholders to support key business initiatives
- Maintain responsibility for monitoring/creating purchase orders for appropriate vendors
- Ensure compliance with the company's purchasing procedures, Code of Ethics, values and adherence to relevant laws and regulations
- Work with internal stakeholders to support new project timelines and production needs
- Confirm supplier delivery dates and expedite orders when necessary
- Work with accounting and distribution to resolve variances between purchase orders, invoices, shipments and packing slips
- Issue RFQ; assist in sourcing projects and agreements
- Bachelor's degree in applicable field or 3 years of experience in supply chain or equivalent business role
- Analytical skills in Excel
- Computer literacy skills and ability to work quickly with common programs and tools
- Strong cooperation and communication skills for interpersonal relationships
- Demonstrated experience excelling in self-directed role
- Capable of working in a dynamic environment
- Person with integrity and respect for all
- 3+ years of experience in supply chain role, either purchasing or planning
- Experience and comfort using SAP S/4HANA
- Strong negotiation skills
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders

The Buyer is responsible for the purchase of materials and consumables for running production and R&D projects at Cree LED's headquarters in Durham, NC.
This role will support key deliverables, including:
This role requires on-site work at our Durham, N.C. campus, with flexibility for a hybrid schedule after full onboarding.

Compensation & Benefits
The pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position in Durham, NC is $58,000 - $72,000; the pay ultimately offered within the expected range may vary based on business considerations, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. The position is bonus-eligible, and there are medical, dental, and vision benefits available. There is a 401k saving plan and other benefits, such as Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, and an Employee Assistance Plan.
