    OverviewThe Buyer is responsible for the purchase of materials and consumables for running production and R&D projects at Cree LED's headquarters in Durham, NC.


    This role will support key deliverables, including:

    Driving the right supplier cost and timing for new product development Managing cost efficiency, risk management and commodity strategies, etc.

    Managing supplier OTD and supply assurance Working closely across business functions to ensure robust and accurate PTP processes for all Working closely with global procurement, R&D, manufacturing, quality, compliance and other stakeholders to support key business initiatives

    Responsibilities Maintain responsibility for monitoring/creating purchase orders for appropriate vendors Ensure compliance with the company's purchasing procedures, Code of Ethics, values and adherence to relevant laws and regulations Work with internal stakeholders to support new project timelines and production needs Confirm supplier delivery dates and expedite orders when necessary Work with accounting and distribution to resolve variances between purchase orders, invoices, shipments and packing slips Issue RFQ; assist in sourcing projects and agreements

    Qualifications Bachelor's degree in applicable field or 3 years of experience in supply chain or equivalent business role Analytical skills in Excel Computer literacy skills and ability to work quickly with common programs and tools Strong cooperation and communication skills for interpersonal relationships Demonstrated experience excelling in self-directed role Capable of working in a dynamic environment Person with integrity and respect for all

    Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of experience in supply chain role, either purchasing or planning Experience and comfort using SAP S/4HANA Strong negotiation skills Experience working with multiple stakeholders

    LocationThis role requires on-site work at our Durham, N.C. campus, with flexibility for a hybrid schedule after full onboarding.

    TravelNoneCompensation & BenefitsThe pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position in Durham, NC is $58,000 - $72,000; the pay ultimately offered within the expected range may vary based on business considerations, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education.

    The position is bonus-eligible, and there are medical, dental, and vision benefits available.

    There is a 401k saving plan and other benefits, such as Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, and an Employee Assistance Plan.
