Eli Lilly and Company is seeking a Bioinformatics Advisor to join our team in Cambridge, MA.

Come join the rapidly expanding Gene Editing team at Eli Lilly We are responsible for inventing, characterizing, and advancing novel genome editing reagents for a myriad of clinical applications.

Our team works cross-functionally within our organization across multiple disease areas and platforms. Our goal is to deliver on the promise of gene editing to patients around the world.

Job Responsibilities
Build pipelines to identify and quantify levels of off-target editing from different nuclease modalities
Assist the lab team in creating robust off-target pipelines from concept through analysis
Hire and manage a team to deliver on timelines as the programs and team expands
Work with data scientists to distill complex information to a cross-functional audience

Job Requirements:
Position requires either a PhD or a BS/MS with equivalent experience. PhD with 0-2+ years, BS/MS with 5+ years of related experience.

Additional Skills/Preferences:
Mastery of NGS data handling, from processing raw reads through to running or building pipelines for analysis
Experience working with off-target data, including datasets from Digenome-seq, SITE-Seq , UdiTaS, GUIDE-Seq, or rhAmpSeq
Expert working knowledge in either Python or R
Experience working in a Linux HPC environment and cloud-computing platforms (e.g., AWS)
Experience working with containers (e.g., Docker) and workflow management software (e.g. Nextflow, WDL, or Snakemake)
Experience working with publicly available biological datasets (NCBI, gnomAD, SRA, GTEx)
Familiarity with electronic laboratory notebooks (e.g., Benchling)

Additional Information:

This role may require up to 10-15% travel for conferences or training and may include the opportunity to mentor and train two junior scientists.

The position is located at 215 First St, Cambridge, MA Full time (40 hours/week).
