    Description

    The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) is looking for a dedicated Governance & Member Board Relations Manager.

    The Governance & Member Board Relations Manager will play a key role in engaging with various ABMS Governance bodies and groups, such as the ABMS Awards Committee, the ABMS Public Member Caucus, the ABMS Stakeholder Council, and the ABMS Committee chairs. This individual will also act as a bridge to staff teams in other ABMS departments.

    This position, reporting to the Senior Vice President, Governance & Board Relations, is full-time and exempt.

    Founded in 1933, ABMS focuses on setting high standards for physician certification in the United States, aiming to enhance the quality of care provided to patients, families, and communities. The 24 ABMS Member Boards develop and maintain educational and professional standards and assessment programs to certify physicians and medical specialists.     Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Development and management of project plans, including progress tracking and issue resolution.
    • Handling the annual governance data collection from Member Boards.
    • Supporting the implementation of technological solutions to streamline committee work.
    • Managing the ordering and distribution of annual service awards.
    • Coordinating committee meetings and related logistics.
    • Facilitating audio/video conferences using Microsoft Teams.
    • More responsibilities available upon request.

    Required Skills:

    • Proactive, with the ability to work independently and in teams effectively.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
    • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree.
    • Minimum of 3 years working with physicians/medical executives.
    • Experience in a not-for-profit setting, preferably in healthcare.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat.

    Working Hours: Full-time, 37.50 hours per week, with flexibility. Occasional weekend work and travel may be required.
