    About the Department

    The role of Diabetes Educator at Novo Nordisk involves leading the US sales efforts for the company's cardiometabolic product portfolio focused on diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular events reduction.

    As part of this dynamic team, you will gain valuable insights into our portfolio vision and business strategies. Your role will be crucial in driving the NNI portfolio strategy in collaboration with the marketing team.     The Position

    The Diabetes Educator is responsible for collaborating with health system accounts to implement the Diabetes Education Program strategy. This role involves working closely with key stakeholders within health systems to identify poorly controlled diabetes populations and provide education and training according to ADA Standards of Care and relevant guidelines. By partnering with health system teams, the goal is to position Novo Nordisk as a leader in diabetes care and drive demand for the company's diabetes portfolio.

    Relationships

    Externally, the Diabetes Educator nurtures relationships with physicians, nurses, patients, and other vital personnel within targeted health system accounts. Internally, this role reports to the Health Systems Diabetes Educator Manager and collaborates with various teams within Novo Nordisk to ensure alignment and drive commercial success.

    Essential Functions
    • Identify 'at risk' patient populations and provide diabetes education based on ADA Standards of Care
    • Utilize value-based models to influence health system and provider behavior
    • Implement strategies to enhance diabetes care through NNI products and solutions
    • Collaborate with internal teams to establish Novo Nordisk as the preferred diabetes care partner
    • Customize education and support based on health system priorities
    • Develop relationships with key decision makers and healthcare professionals
    • Educate providers on improving medication adherence and product usage
    • Deliver educational programs aligned with health system goals
    • Stay updated on market trends and adapt educational initiatives accordingly
    • Share field insights with leadership and contribute to business growth
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree required, Pharm D preferred
    • Minimum 3 years of diabetes clinical experience
    • Healthcare-related certifications such as CDE or CDCES desired
    • Proficiency in diabetes care practices and standards
    • Knowledge of health care trends and population management principles
    • Experience with health system accounts and cardiovascular care is advantageous
    • Strong analytical and strategic capabilities
    • Ability to work independently in a field-based role
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Proficient in computer applications
    Physical Requirements

    20% overnight travel; Valid driver's license required.
