    Job Highlights

    Conduct internal Global Compliance Check audits, ensuring compliance to LANXESS Directives and regional / regulatory requirements in the areas of process safety, occupational safety, environmental law, and dangerous goods compliance.

    Lead federally mandated OSHA PSM and EPA RMP audits and LXS POSM Site Evaluations at LXS production sites to assess compliance to applicable regulations/laws and LXS requirements.

    Serve as the NA technical contact for loss prevention

    Manage and lead the highly visible global Intelex MOC project, which shall replace local, stand-alone IT solutions for change management, resulting in global efficiencies, complexity reduction, risk mitigation and cost savings.

    Lead a team of global experts and business unit stakeholders throughout the process of software module development, testing, implementation, and rollout to North America, then globally, while meeting both timeline milestones and budget committments

    Develop and manage the NA regional process and operational safety management (POSM) program in line with industry and company standards.


    This includes, but is not limited to:
    establishing POSM requirements, guidance documents, FAQs, code/standards, websites, and subscriptions, and system tools. Identify new tools, enhance existing systems, issue alerts/updates on emerging regulatory changes and impacts to regional and global stakeholders for compliance and risk mitigation
    Develop and lead trainings and workshops in Process and Operational Safety Management (POSM) principles, requirements, and industry standards and regulation as it relates to work processes in chemicals operations for plant managers and site teams

    Monitor upcoming revisions and changes to process safety regulations, investigate and communicate these changes to LANXESS site and BU leadership as appropriate.

    Provide technical expertise and guidance to site management and leadership teams with regard to process safety regulatory compliance. Oversee the process by which sites are managing comliance with laws and internal directives and standards
    Conduct or participate in select safety-related reviews when requested or when appropriate. Participate in process incident investigations with root cause analysis and corrective action management
    Develop, implement, and communicate effective process safety KPI reporting and tracking at the regional level of all business units. Analyze data and identify trends (positive or negative) and develop strategic plans to address increased risks, negative performance or to highlight best practices within the BUs

    Serve as the critical back-up to the NA Crisis Team Leader, ensuring continuity of crisis team management, organization, and coordination of periodic exercises/drills and active response.

    In a back-up responsibility, serve as the primary notification for Level 1 incidents and the Crisis Team Commander during crisis events
    Requirements
    Masters degree in an engineering, chemistry or scientific field (advanced degree preferred)
    Industry experience > 10 years
    Leadership experience > 5 years
    In-depth knowledge of US OSHA and EPA process safety requirements, as well as LXS directives and industry RAGAGEP
    International experience
    Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
    Previous experience as a site/plant manager or leadership role is mandatory

    Compensation:
    We offer competitive compensation packages, inclusive of a global bonus program and an individual performance bonus program. The established pay range for this position is $138,800 to $185,100. Please note, the actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level.
