    The Hotel Front Desk Agent is responsible for assisting guests with check-in and checkout, answers and processes all phone calls received and handles all special requests for services or information in accordance with Cooper Hotel policies and procedures.

    Front Desk Agent Essential Duties and Responsibilities


    • Greet, register, and process guests upon arrival and assign room accommodations.
    • Issue room keys and provide bell services directly to guests; assist with luggage when necessary.
    • Properly process and notify guests of all incoming messages such as telephone calls, hand-delivered packages, and faxes.
    • Issue safe deposit box to guests as required, following Cooper Hotel procedures.
    • Manage lost and found as needed.
    • Assist guests with inquiries pertaining to hotel services, shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions.
    • Keeps records of room availability and guest accounts; accurately post charges of room, food, telephone, and laundry according to established hotel operating procedures.
    • Compute bills, collect payments, cash checks, and make change for guests in accordance to established credit procedures.
    • Reconcile daily work, submitting all balanced accounts to cashier box and make appropriate deposits to the safe.
    • Up-sell/upgrade to premium rooms and promote Cooper Hotel and/or other Cooper Aerobics Center facilities.
    • Make, confirm, and cancel reservations for guests as well as make restaurant, transportation, or entertainment reservations for guests.
    • Receive, record, act on and follow up on all guest requests and complaints within a timely manner as outlined by the General Manager.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Front Office Manager or General Manager.
    Requirements

    The ideal Front Desk Agent candidate should possess:


    • High school diploma
    • Exceptional communication and customer service skills
    • One-year previous experience in a similar position in a hotel or in another front facing customer service role
    • Basic computer skills- Use of Microsoft Office
    • Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
