    About Us


    Centralia College is located on a 30-acre campus in the heart of Centralia, Washington and has been serving students in the Lewis County region since 1925.

    As a comprehensive community college, Centralia College offers academic transfer and workforce programs, as well as adult basic education, ELL, and personal enrichment classes.

    The college also offers five Bachelor of Applied Science degrees:
    Information Technology - Application Development, Diesel Technology, Applied Management (Business), Behavioral Healthcare and Teacher Education.


    In addition to the main campus in Centralia, Centralia College East in Morton is a smaller site that serves the needs of students in east Lewis County.

    Since the college is committed to the success of all students, Centralia College also provides educational programs at two corrections centers in southwest Washington - Garrett Heyns Education Center located in Shelton, Washington and the Cedar Creek Corrections Center located in Littlerock, Washington.

    In addition to Green Hill School in Chehalis, Washington. In total, the college serves more than 7,000 students annually.

    Job Description

    Centralia College seeks a detail-oriented team player to support in the Correction Education Division. Corrections Education offers courses in Basic Education for Adults (BEdA), vocational, and academic transfer degree programs.

    The work location for this position is inside the Garrett Heyns Education Center located at the Washington Corrections Center in Shelton, WA.

    However, this position supports Centralia College programs at both Garrett Heyns Education Center and at the Cedar Creek Corrections Center located in Littlerock, WA.

    Duties and Responsibilities


    • Verify high school credentials for all incoming incarcerated individuals and make referrals
    • Process education information requests, including transcript requests
    • Track student applications and registrations
    • Schedule appointments for visitors and navigators
    • Data entry into the DOC OMNI and other databases, including class schedules and assignments
    • Track Teaching Assistants' timesheets
    • Enter requisitions and travel documentation in ctcLink
    • Assist with conference registration and travel documents
    • Establish and maintain records and files
    • Create and maintain spreadsheets for courses, attendance, and equipment inventory
    • Comply with DOC and college policies and procedures
    • Participate in division meetings and committee assignments
    • Perform related duties as required and/or assigned
    Qualifications


    • High School diploma or equivalent AND two years' clerical experience AND/OR equivalent
    • Ability to pass the Department of Corrections security clearance
    • Complete DOC CORE training academy
    Preferred Qualifications


    • Associate Degree
    • Two years' experience working in an educational or corrections setting
    • Outstanding organizational Skills
    • Excellent Interpersonal Skills
    • Experience working with incarcerated or recently released individuals
    • Experience working in the DOC and/or higher education or community college system
    Physical Requirements

    Sitting, standing, stooping, walking, lifting less than 30 pounds.

    Conditions of Employment

    COVID 19 Vaccination Requirement


    Employees of the WA State Department of Corrections (DOC) are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment.

    Any offer of employment is contingent upon verification of your vaccine status.

    Being fully vaccinated means that an individual is at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen.

    The successful candidate must complete Department of Corrections New Employee Orientation Training and adhere to all Department of Corrections rules, policies, and procedures.

    There is one 40 hours per week position. Classified employees are represented by the Washington State Federation of State Employees (WFSE). The state of Washington provides a comprehensive benefits package for state employees.


    DEADLINE:
    The postion will close January 7, 2023. The screening committee will begin their review January 8, 2023. Position open until filled.


    COMPENSATION

    Monthly Salary:
    Range 34 ($2,940 - 3,796)
