- Assist the design team with new product development and create/maintain new processes for manufacturing
- Provide Engineering support and expertise when helping troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that are related to the manufacturing process
- Design and optimize tooling, machine programming, etc. to improve process efficiency as well as product quality
- Implement automation and lean manufacturing principles where necessary to improve performance
- Identify and address issues related to process variability, quality defects, and equipment malfunctions
- Complete design reviews with internal and external business partners
- Complete Finite Element Analyses and determine manufacturability
- Select materials and/or create new materials in order to manufacture new products
- Manage projects from beginning to end including the definition of the concept, designing, BOM selection, prototyping, and manufacturing
- Lead cost-savings and scrap reduction projects, conduct root cause analyses, develop corrective action plans, and improve equipment uptime and output
- Implement corrective actions and preventative measures to ensure continuous improvement
- Conduct material testing and analysis to ensure compliancewith all applicable policies and procedures
- Create and update standard operating procedures for manufacturing processes
- Handle additional duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager
- ***NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENT: Must have previous work experience with plastics manufacturing which could include overmolding, insert molding, injection molding, and/or extrusion OR possess a Bachelor's Degree specifically within Plastics Engineering***
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering is required
- Must have experience with process engineering and/or new product development for plastic products
- Preference toward candidates from a highly regulated industry
- Must possess the ability to read blueprints and CAD designs
- Must possess strong analytical, trouble-shooting, and problem-solving skills
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively work as part of a cross-functional team

LHH is seeking a Process Engineer for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client in Bloomington, Indiana. This is a newly created position due to business growth and will give you the opportunity to develop and manage the manufacturing processes for new product lines from cradle to grave. You will join a well-established team and will interface with multiple departments on a daily basis as you help launch new products. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $85,000-105,000 per year plus bonus and offers several medical insurance plans, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with a company match.
