Job SummaryThe Corporate Accounting Manager assists in ensuring Corporate accounting policies are implemented in both the dealership and Corporate. This is accomplished by consistent validation of the process. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Responsibilities
Duties/Responsibilities:
Manages Corporate accounting staff and oversees their duties
Oversees accounting functions for VIP and Mighty Auto operations
Oversees 8300 process to ensure timely filings
Processes daily positive files and assists with banking transactions
Reviews depreciation rates for capital assets along with monthly asset and depreciation schedule reviews
Executes A/P process including approving new vendors, vendor records and 1099 issuance
Executes A/R process including approving credit accounts, adjusting limits, monitoring collection and issuing statements
Manages accounting staff and oversees their duties
Assists in the preparation of information for the external accounting and tax firms to minimize audit costs.
Continually strives to improve data integrity and information reporting throughout the Company
Attends manager meetings and i nteracts with Executives and dealership management
Other tasks as assigned
Maintains professional appearance
Required Skills
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited information exists
Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public
Knowledge of the accrual principle, the matching principle, the historic cost principle, the conservatism principle, and the principle of substance over form, and GAAP standards
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software including Excel, as well as general accounting software
Must be able to sit for long hours while working from a desktop computer, accounting calculator, accounting software, ledgers, financial statements, and more
Must have ample dexterity to bend, reach, stretch, sit, stand, type, and lift to 30 pounds
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university required
Three or more years' experience preferred
Automotive industry experience strongly preferred
Must possess a valid driver's license
