    Job Summary


    The Sales Director role is responsible for managing a team of Key Account Managers who are responsible to lead and develop strategically viable and well-planned sales opportunities within a defined set of accounts.

    Key account management experience is crucial to ensure customer success.

    This role will be a key contributor to Vontas' growth and requires strong business acumen, exceptional relationship building and leadership skills.

    This role will report directly to the Vice President (VP) of Sales.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    Manage priorities and activities for a team of Account Managers.
    Lead in talent acquisition systems and processes, including recruitment activities and decisions on selections.
    Identify and nurture talent within the team for future leadership roles.
    Collaborate with the team to develop and execute sales strategies that align with the Company's objectives.
    Provide resources to help employees develop skills and supports their career interests including mentorship, workforce development and succession planning.
    Identify growth opportunities, build development plans with direct reports and conducting development discussions.
    Establish and communicate performance expectations.
    Identify performance gaps and monitor performance to ensure development plans are met.

    Ensure fair and equal treatment of employees, avoiding favoritism, addressing difficult issues (with assistance from Human Resources), and practices empathy and compassion.

    Promote Company policies, procedures, mission, and values by training and providing direction to direct reports in their use and application.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Duties/Responsibilities


    Support, oversee, and manage the development and maintenance of customized account plans that drive sales growth by addressing current and future needs of existing customers.

    Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders in the public transit industry to support account strategies to existing customers
    Lead complex sales cycles, navigating the large transit authority/government organizations, procurements, and processes.

    Formulate and execute account strategies for assigned clients, leveraging the expertise of the broader Account Team to devise and implement plans.

    Emphasize value-based and consultative selling, effectively communicating our core differentiator to showcase the value Vontas brings to clients.

    Review, adjust and craft persuasive proposal responses and strategies.
    Support the company's forecasting and planning process from a sales perspective with detailed monthly / quarterly / annual bookings forecasts
    Work closely with technical sales, product management and development to provide customer feedback and market intelligence into the product strategy process
    Anticipate travel commitments, with around 50% being designated to account site visits, conference participation, exhibitions, and workshops.
    Practice and embody Vontas's culture and values.

    Leverages expertise and consultative approach to influence, educate and inspire others towards accomplishing a common goal.
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interactions with team members, cross-functional teams, customers and leadership.
    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software(s).
    Strong understanding of our technical solution and delivery.

    Education And Experience


    Successful enterprise sales leader with over 10+ years experience in government and public sector sales, including a minimum of 7 years in technology sales and a minimum of 5 years in account management.

    Post-secondary education in the area of Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Mandatory sales leadership experience in technology-related industry for hardware and software.
    Proficiency in Salesforce or similar software for managing and forecasting sales opportunities preferred.
    Knowledge of local and international industry trends in the public transit sector.

    Physical Requirements

    Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer/laptop.
    Ability to travel, sometimes for extended periods, which may involve sitting during transit and walking at various locations.
    Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at a time.
    Must be able to handle high utilization of hand and wrist dexterity.
