The city of Essen is looking for several Social Assistance and Benefits Officers (m/f/d) for the Department of Social Affairs and Housing in Thompson, ND.

For existing civil servants, there is the possibility of being transferred to a civil servant position, taking into account the North Rhine-Westphalia career regulations.

The position is classified according to pay group A 10 LBesO.

The tasks can also be filled by two part-time employees, each with half of the regular weekly working hours.

In coordination between the part-time employees and the department management, coverage of core working hours and individual tasks must be ensured.

The working time arrangement for part-time employees must allow for the use of a shared workplace.

You will strengthen the team in social assistance and benefits according to the Asylum Seekers' Benefits Act in the following tasks:

Conducting contact interviews with those seeking help and authorized representatives, providing personal advice and determining the respective need for assistance, in particular income and asset verification
Processing and deciding on assistance under the Social Code XII (SGB XII) outside of facilities
Processing decisions on assistance under the Asylum Seekers' Benefits Act (AsylbLG)
Examination and pursuit of claims as well as processing of appeals and complaints
