    Description

    Full-time interns will work directly with our global accelerator & scouting team to help source deals and evaluate potential investments. The internship is for Juniors/Rising Seniors, is 10 weeks, paid and remote. (Though we prefer you live within driving distance of our El Segundo office.) The position is for immediate support in scouting, technical due diligence, and managing relationships with incredible startups. The appropriate candidate will be the voice of Starburst, connecting the dots with our customers needs and startup technologies and is passionate about the changing landscape of the aerospace market. The ideal candidate will have worked for an industry major like Boeing, Northrop or Raytheon, delivered value to a program, is looking to make an impact, and enjoys having a conversation with dreamers about game-changing technologies. Responsibilities: Scouting, sourcing, and identifying potential startups to join the Starburst community Assessing startup technology viability and fit for the Starburst community Preparing and managing briefing slides and presentations for presenting to Corporate Partners Coordinating and communicating cold applications and other leads submitted on behalf of the entire business Overseeing and taking full accountability of the master database with regular reviews to ensure the best startups are being considered by industry leaders Support with logistics for selection committees, matchmaking, office hours and other pitch events Supporting the Managing Director, Operations Manager, and COO with various tasks and activities Managing resources, including supporting staff for scouting, logistics, etc. Manage program operations, including calendar management and stakeholders relationships (bi-weekly meetings with founders, engaging with mentors) Support in developing the business of our portfolio companies using and expanding Starbursts network, build knowledge of Government programs Track quality, operational execution, and build reports on actions and success metrics of the portfolio companies you support Assist in creation of one pagers, Accelerator term sheets, support in conducting negotiations with founders and their boards Expectations: Pursuing B.S. in Engineering, Math, or Physics or a similar degree Familiarity of the startup ecosystem and venture culture Fluent with Excel and PowerPoint, conducting online research and presenting useful information in an effective way Resourceful, creative, easy to talk to with a positive can-do attitudeEntrepreneurial spirit, passionate about work, flexible in schedule, and excited to learn Ideal candidates will have a strong knowledge of or direct experience in the aerospace sector
